John Cohan is Senior Counsel with Gesmer Updegrove LLP in Boston, focusing his practice on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity financings, bank financings, private placements of equity and debt securities, intellectual property licensing, software licensing, and technology law. Cohan’s practice ranges from multi-million-dollar acquisitions and corporate loan, venture capital and private equity financing transactions to representing and advising early-stage and emerging companies and technology entrepreneurs in connection with their contracting, licensing, business planning, intellectual property needs, and general corporate compliance. Cohan earned his B.S.E.E. from Syracuse University and his J.D., magna cum laude, from New England Law | Boston and is licensed to practice law in the Commonweath of Massachusetts.
