John Dalton founded Industrial Device Investments (IDI) in 2017 to invest in industrial products companies. IDI holds interest in Proton Power, where Dalton is on the board. A carbon-negative energy equipment company, Proton also has graphene products. Dalton also serves as Chair at MRF, where he serves as Director and provides operational support. MRF has a 29-year history as experts in high-temperature furnaces. Dalton also serves as CEO, Chairman, and lead investor of Perceptics, acquired from Northrop Grumman in 2006. Perceptics is an imaging equipment leader. Dalton was operating partner with SouthPointe Ventures, an Atlanta private equity fund, where he continues as an investor. He has 30+ years of operating experience, with General Electric, Black & Decker, and senior positions with smaller organizations focused on unique technologies in basic industries. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell and an MBA degree from UNC Chapel Hill.
